But He doesn't want to punish us. No way.
He doesn't want us to be removed
from His light and life.
He wants us in His arms of love.
He wants to embrace us and crown us
with His eternal glory and goodness.
He wants us to be pure, happy
and completely, utterly free.
That's why Jesus Christ came.
As a sacrifice for us.
As a blameless lamb, He was led
to the cross, to be slaughtered.
He took our sins upon himself.
He was pure, and without any sin.
He is God Himself, who laid aside His divinity
and who became a man like everyone of us.
But without giving in to temptation...
He remained pure light, pure love, pure truth,
pure goodness...
And He took our filth, our shame, our pain
and our destruction upon Himself.
He is God, who became man, to die for you!
To give you forgiveness for your sins.
That is the power of the cross.
That is the centre of this world.
The solution of God, for the sins of man.
The rescue of our Father, for His runaway children,
who are trapped in the prisons of sin and guilt.
He loves us.
So much, that He became man,
to take our guilt upon Himself.
And He rose again. He came back to life.
To give you eternal life. To open the doors
of heaven for you, after this life.
Jesus Christ overcame the power of death
and rose again, to show that He truly is
the conqueror of sin and death.
